2006am1951_amy_miless_dolls_house_room (2)Eighty years young

The checkered flannel she wears looks just as much

Torn about the collar and cuffs

Oak rocking chair, tattered about the legs

Where soles of shoes would rest over the years of marriage she shared with her love

The oak rocking chair is now her throne in the twilight hours

It holds her aged body as she stares upon the gift.

The gift to her one and only

Her beloved of fifty three years had wanted some time ago

The locks of her love had been a brown with gold throughout

Before the whispers of time had turned them silver with all hints of wisdom

She sits misty in the eyes, nostalgia overcoming her senses

Her thoughts a constant barrage of what if’s, the gift, of her love

Oh how that gift was adored

The playful giddiness of excitement when presented to her chosen

How she could swear their eyes gleamed from a dramatic light green

To the most loving of soft blue

She knows of where her loves heaven would be

As she sits there in her weathered body

Faded clothes and solemn rocking chair

She gazes upon the gift she once bestowed upon another

The doll house

 Now of withered wood

 Dusty play sets

 Miniscule rooms

As she rocks steady within the chair

Her lips break into the slightest of smiles

 She takes one final breath

This gift to her wife some time ago

 A little nugget mansion

About PJ Secluded

Introspective writer working on first manuscript. Writer of original series, poems, musings of sorts and the occasional manic prose. My main blog is an original series seen through the eyes of the lesbian protagonist Burgess. With her brood of studs, they conquer fear and tragedy, embracing love and the experiences between close friends. I have been writing for just a little while now and found a true passion for it. I want to help others through my writing discussing sensitive issues that affect the LGBTQ community in a unique fashion
