Panic In the Membrane

IMG_0033 (3)panic in the membrane

thoughts wrapped in broken corners

of mind

sweat throughout

the cold stings

but the hot cringes from the chest

the breathing is affected first

that is the first sign

concentrate on the breathing

it comes faster

so panic accelerates

the growth is slow

no wane

the groups continue

I try to pretend

their stares are long

my smiles forced

calm is all I can say to myself

while panic is all I can feel

what we try to talk ourselves down from

reminds us of what we are fighting

my fight

this panic

I’ll chew the hell out of these mints

I will

this pen as well

bite the cap right off

no one will notice

they all notice

the quiet one

the one who barely talks

the uncontrollable in my chest

tries for an exit

I’m no longer a tyro to this madness

so why does its control still elude

my semblance is sanity

my mind insane

About PJ Secluded

Introspective writer working on first manuscript. Writer of original series, poems, musings of sorts and the occasional manic prose. My main blog is an original series seen through the eyes of the lesbian protagonist Burgess. With her brood of studs, they conquer fear and tragedy, embracing love and the experiences between close friends. I have been writing for just a little while now and found a true passion for it. I want to help others through my writing discussing sensitive issues that affect the LGBTQ community in a unique fashion
