Missing Baby Girl

handsyou were only two

bubbly and terrible

terrible twos I worked

through with you

I have only the memories

of drawing your bath

making your lunch for school

how you would get delighted

with the little treats I tucked inside

I think of the times you would hold my hand

as I read you stories for bedtime

how I fumbled to hold the book

turning pages with only one hand

In mom’s absence we would play

movie nights were every night

with pizza on Fridays

your favorite

cheese with extra cheese

I think of you often and always

and won’t forget the day

when your mom told me to say goodbye

that sad look upon your face

I hope one day you understand

adults make mistakes too

she only meant to hurt me

she never meant to hurt you

I miss you on Mondays

especially on Fridays

I miss you when it rains

you cuddled in my arms

I miss you on Christmas

no more ginger bread houses

I miss you the most on your birthday

another year gone

another year without you

I’ll miss you always

thinking of you often

but be grateful forever and always

that you were my baby girl

About PJ Secluded

Introspective writer working on first manuscript. Writer of original series, poems, musings of sorts and the occasional manic prose. My main blog is an original series seen through the eyes of the lesbian protagonist Burgess. With her brood of studs, they conquer fear and tragedy, embracing love and the experiences between close friends. I have been writing for just a little while now and found a true passion for it. I want to help others through my writing discussing sensitive issues that affect the LGBTQ community in a unique fashion
